Surf City is a very large bar and restaurant. It is located directly on the water with incredible views of Manhattan and the Statue of Liberty. It has both indoor and outdoor seating. There are five bars, one devoted exclusively to frozen tropical drinks. The service in the restaurant is casual. You put in your order, you are given a pager and when it goes off you pick up your order. While your order is being prepared, go to the bar and grab a beer or cocktail and find a table. We have two, four and eight foot tables. There are also long communal tables where you can meet and socialize with other guests. There is seating for over 400 people at Surf City. In a few weeks we will have servers who will come and take additional drink orders at your table.
Is Surf City a nightclub?
No, Surf City is a place where you can come and hang out and actually talk without screaming over the music. It is a bar and restaurant that turns into a very busy bar as the evening goes on.
What are your days & hours of operation?
SurfCity opens Monday – Friday at 4pm and Saturday and Sunday at Noon.
What kind of music do you play?
We play vacation music; Margaritaville, Surf –Roots, Rock and Beach /Calypso.
Who comes to surf city?
The 95% of the population who do not enjoy going to dance clubs.
Is Surf City open year round?
No. Surf City is seasonal.
Is there a dress code?
No.
Is there a cover charge?
No. There is no cover charge at Surf City.
Is there parking at Surf City?
Yes. There is plenty of free parking in the parking lot opposite the building across Marin Blvd.
Can you reach Surf City by public transportation?
Yes. We are conveniently located one block from the Marin Blvd. light rail station and 5 blocks from the Grove St. PATH station.

Surf City is located in the Liberty Harbor Marina at the end of Marin Blvd. We are in a new part of Jersey City and may not yet be on some mapping programs. Please go to the Directions tab for detailed directions.
Are children allowed?
Yes. Children under 21 who are accompanied by a parent are allowed before 8:00 pm and must leave by 9:30pm at which time Surf City takes on a more adult personality.
Do you take credit cards?
Yes, we accept all major credit cards and there is an ATM on the premises.
Do you have a full bar?
Surf city has a full service bar serving beer, wine, cocktails and frozen drinks.
Can we bring in our own snacks or birthday cakes?
No outside food is permitted in Surf City. Birthday cakes can be ordered in advance from our kitchen.
Can we play drinking games?
Drinking games are not permitted..

Do you offer private parties?
Yes. Surf City can accommodate parties form 8 to 500 people with a variety of food and beverage options, most not listed on our regular menu. Give us a call and we will work to accommodate your event needs.
Are dogs permitted at Surf City?
Dogs under 20 lbs are allowed in the outside areas.
